Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy describes how DurgaShakti.org handles information on its public website and through its Contact form.

Information you send us

The Contact form asks for an email address and a message. You may also provide your name, but it is optional. We use this information to review and respond to your inquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information. Contact submissions are not sold.

Messages are stored in a private WordPress inbox that only site administrators can access. The form does not automatically send an email or subscribe you to a mailing list. An administrator reviews the inbox and may use the email address you supplied to reply. There is no automatic deletion schedule; contact us if you would like us to review or remove information you submitted, subject to any obligations to retain it. Copies may also exist in site backups.

Analytics and cookies

The public production website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand general site usage and performance, including page views, popular pages and referring sites. The analytics script is disabled on local and staging environments and for signed-in WordPress users.

Cloudflare documents that its Web Analytics beacon does not use cookies or browser storage. It measures page and performance information rather than tracking individuals across websites. See Cloudflare’s explanation of the beacon and its data handling.

The site does not add advertising or marketing cookies. The public Contact form does not set a tracking cookie. WordPress uses necessary cookies for administrator sign-in; ordinary reading does not require an account. A cookie banner is not used for the current public-site configuration.

Hosting and spam prevention

Hostinger provides the website’s hosting. The hosting service processes technical connection information needed to deliver and secure the website, and its infrastructure may keep operational or security logs. Contact messages are held in the site database on that hosting service.

To limit contact-form abuse, the site uses an invisible empty field and a short-lived, keyed hash derived from the connecting IP address to count accepted submissions. The raw IP address is not saved with a contact message. The rate-limit counter expires after an hour without a new accepted submission. No third-party CAPTCHA or advertising tracker is used for this protection.

External resources

Articles link to museums, publications and other external resources. Those websites have their own privacy practices. If third-party content is embedded in a page, the provider may receive connection information when it loads. Follow the provider’s policy for information about its handling of that data.

Children

The site offers general educational reading and does not ask children to create accounts. Please avoid submitting personal information about children through the Contact form. If you believe such information has been submitted, contact us so it can be reviewed.

Questions and updates

Use the Contact page for privacy questions or requests concerning a message you submitted. We may need enough information to identify the relevant submission. This policy may change as the site’s services change; the date above identifies the latest update.
